greta's first photos
The other day, like many others, I took Greta to my studio while I edited photos. She usually draws, listens to music (dance parties happen regularly), or watches a movie. Even though I try to make it fun, she can only last a couple hours until she is bored. So when "we" were done, I grabbed my camera, we hopped on the scooter and headed for the park. After we got our snacks and found some shade, I decided I was a good day to let Greta hold my camera for the first time. Which is kind of a big deal.
Her eyes were huge! She noticed the weight of the camera body and lens right away. She told me she had no idea it was going to be this heavy. Next, I showed her how to cradle the lens with one hand and capture the photo with the other. I could tell that her wheels were spinning as she buried her face into the back of the camera, discovering a new world through the view finder.
She took 3 photos. Carefully and methodically lined up her shoots, directing me in between each.
I was so proud of her. Kinda choked up now, just thinking about it.
Moments like these, I'll hold on to forever.
